Brandon Ream
Owner, PT, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)

Brandon opened MVP in 2010 after working various orthopedic settings, including a franchise corporate PT company. He is a graduate of Gettysburg College (PA); earned his Master of Physical Therapy from ODU in 1999; and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2014. Brandon set out to build a community-based practice that is focused on the customer experience and the highest level of treatment available. In 2017 he opened the second location in the West End. His interests outside of work include being in the outdoors, either hunting or on the water, and spending time with his wife Elizabeth and their three wonderful daughters.
Melanie Springston
PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Melanie is a licensed physical therapist assistant and graduate of Penn State University. She has always been interested in the medical field, and after experiencing PT with a family friend, knew that was the career she wanted to pursue. Melanie enjoys working with patients of all ages and helping them overcome their challenges and return to all the things they need and love to do. In her free time, Melanie enjoys scuba diving, Orangetheory fitness, paddle boarding, board games/puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Indrani Agarwal
PT, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)

Indrani earned her bachelor's degree from VT, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has spent most of her career in outpatient orthopedics and has continued to focus her continuing education and expertise in advancing her manual therapy skills for a hands-on approach to rehab while also incorporating her strong clinical background in exercise and wellness to restore pain free mobility and function. Indrani has developed a dynamic treatment approach that integrates therapeutic exercise with joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, posture education and body mechanics training. In her free time, Indrani enjoys family time, traveling, skiing, hiking and exercising.
Alexa Crump
PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Alexa earned her Bachelor’s degree from Longwood University, and her Physical Therapist Degree from ECPI. Alexa was previously a PT technician at MVP, and returned to school for her PTA licensure after discovering her love for treating patients and helping them achieve their goals. She especially enjoys treating sports injuries and gait and balance training. In her free time, Alexa enjoys camping, live music, playing with her perfect dog, and participating in anything on the water.
Grant Baker
PT Technician

Grant earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in kinesiology. He first realized he wanted to pursue a career in PT after his own ACL/meniscus tear as a teen. The kindness and care he was given in that setting drives him to want to be that kind of person to others. His professional interests include pediatric sports injuries, general orthopedics, and functional strength training. In his free time, Grant enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing sports (especially volleyball and basketball) and playing video games with his friends.
Melissa Truong
Billing Coordinator

Melissa Truong, MVP Therapy’s Billing Coordinator, has been a medical biller since 2005. She LOVES working for our patients’ best interest by keeping insurance claims correctly processed. Melissa is happily married and is Mom to a wonderful son. For outdoor fun, she and her family enjoy biking, hiking, and swimming. When indoors, you will find them spending time with Baby the Cat and enjoying family movie nights.
Karen Myers
MSPT (Physical Therapist)

Karen earned her Bachelor’s degree from JMU, and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MSPT) from Duke University. Karen joined MVP Therapy in 2012, bringing years of outpatient orthopedic experience to our team. She enjoys treating patients of all ages with various musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunctions. Using manual therapy techniques, individualized exercise programs, and particular emphasis on posture and body mechanics, Karen strives to provide an exceptional clinical experience for each of her patients. In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, baking, exercising, volunteering at her church, and cheering for the Denver Broncos and Duke Blue Devils.
Sarah Kate Simmons

Sarah Kate received her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech. She taught group exercise classes there at VT (and continues to teach at the YMCA and F45 studios). Through coaching, she found a passion for teaching exercise and an appreciation for PT when working through her own personal injuries. She hopes to be able to continue to connect with patients and help them through their rehabilitation process and finds watching patients succeed very rewarding. In her free time, Sarah Kate enjoys baking, exercising, walking trails, and exploring restaurants/farmer’s markets.
Sarah Holland

Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, and her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. While pursuing her doctorate, Sarah developed an interest in orthopedic and sport-related injury rehabilitation across all age groups. Sarah has a passion for helping individuals return to active lifestyles. She has been an avid tennis player since her youth and competed on the University of Virginia club team. Recently, she has been enjoying pickleball as well. When not on the tennis or pickleball court, Sarah enjoys working out, rock climbing, travel, and spending time with family.
Kelleen Thornock

Kelleen is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and graduate of South University who joined the MVP team with experience in both outpatient and skilled nursing rehabilitation. She is passionate about treating each person holistically, focusing on each individual’s unique needs rather than just the injury, and finds joy in helping them get back to the things they love. Kelleen also manages our marketing team and appreciates being able to form partnerships and relationships in the community and developing content for our social media platforms. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children, salsa dancing, walks in nature, and reading.
Sarah Vytlacil

Sarah graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech and became a part of the MVP Therapy team in 2010 (the same year we opened our doors!). Sarah enjoys working with patients as a member of the clinical team and managing our scheduling, staffing and daily operations. She also contributes to the marketing and public relations team at MVP. In her free time, Sarah enjoys cooking, traveling, exploring Richmond, and spending time with friends and family.
Shawn Lambert

Shawn received both her Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Ohio University. She started her career in the Atlanta area in outpatient sports medicine and rehabilitation clinics before relocating to the Seattle area where she worked at a hospital based outpatient clinic for 7 years. Shawn moved to VA in 2015 to be closer to extended family and enjoys calling Richmond home. Shawn’s professional interests include spine disorders, balance/neurological problems, and general orthopedics. In her free time, Shawn enjoys engaging in most outdoor activities, and spending time with family.
Anna Claire Trei

Anna Claire earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at UNC at Chapel Hill. She discovered her love for orthopedic recovery after working as a student athletic trainer for the NC State Football team during her undergraduate years. During PT school she developed a passion for working with older adults with both orthopedic and neurological injuries. Her professional special interests include strength training and fall prevention for older adults, long-term stroke recovery, and return to sport. Anna Claire is an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on the NC State Wolfpack and Carolina Hurricanes, traveling, running, and exploring her new state with her husband.
Darren Creary

Darren earned his Bachelor’s degree from VCU, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Howard University. After 2 ACL tears of his own earlier in life, Darren discovered he loved the relationship PT’s are able to build with their patients and decided to pursue it as his career. He enjoys developing individualized plans for each patient based on their needs and seeing them achieve their goals. He enjoys working with all ages and especially likes treating knees, hips, and ankles. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, working out at the gym, or even playing quadball (a.k.a quidditch).
Silvia Contreras

Silvia joined the MVP team in 2019; she loves this profession and enjoys helping patients improve after an illness or injury. She completed her education and licensure as a physiotherapist in Colombia, South America in 2005. She worked in the cardiovascular and orthopedics areas with an emphasis on hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Silvia’s deep knowledge and experience of the field is combined with her ability to assist Spanish speaking patients during their therapy visits. “En MVP therapy hablamos español, para que puedas realizar con toda confianza tu proceso de rehabilitación.” Silvia enjoys walking, playing, and watching movies with her husband and two children.
Alecia Underwood
Midlothian Front Office Coordinator

Alecia has 23 years experience working in a medical clinic setting, and was most recently the office manager of a mental health clinic of 23 clinicians before joining our team. She is happy to join our team and be closer to her home and believes in what PT can do after watching her daughter rehab from an ACL injury several years ago. Alecia is active in her church, and also frequently volunteers in the community. She enjoys cooking, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family.
